Exploring Rome’s Latest Culinary Hotspots

Rome’s culinary landscape is ever-evolving, with new establishments continually enriching the city’s gastronomic scene. Here are some of the latest additions that food enthusiasts should not miss.

Viride by Carlo Cracco

Renowned chef Carlo Cracco has made his Roman debut with ‘Viride,’ located within the newly opened Corinthia Rome hotel at Piazza del Parlamento. The restaurant offers three distinct dining experiences, aiming to cater to a broad audience while maintaining Cracco’s signature culinary excellence. The menu emphasizes contemporary Italian cuisine, blending traditional flavors with innovative techniques.

Futura

Nestled along Via Panisperna in the Monti district, Futura is an intimate restaurant with just 20 seats and an open-air kitchen. Chef Anastasia Paris, after years of experience in kitchens across Italy and abroad, presents a menu that changes frequently, focusing on seasonal ingredients, fresh pasta, and inventive takes on traditional dishes. Highlights include ravioli filled with tripe in celeriac broth and beef cheek with black tea and anchovies.

Tribuna Campitelli

Located in a 16th-century palazzo near Piazza d’Aracoeli, Tribuna Campitelli offers a unique dining lounge experience. The establishment features a strong wine list, a carefully designed cocktail bar, intimate rooms, and an outdoor terrace overlooking the square. The menu blends tradition and innovation, reflecting Rome’s dynamic culinary scene.

Nomos Ante

Situated on the ground floor of the Nomos Hotel, Nomos Ante is a fine-dining restaurant led by chef Giulio Luigi Zoli. With an international background, Zoli presents a menu that blends Italian roots with global influences through a technique-driven style focused on balance and carefully selected ingredients. The menu is offered through tasting journeys, providing a contemplative dining experience.

Stecca

Opened in the Garbatella neighborhood, Stecca is the result of a collaboration between Flavio De Maio and Franco Franciosi. The intimate space, conceived as a ‘multisensory lab,’ offers a menu that reflects the neighborhood’s historic homes, blending food, music, and conviviality.

Food Trucks: APECESARE and Spritz Bar

Rome’s street food scene has also seen exciting additions. The ‘APECESARE’ food truck offers a unique twist on traditional Roman dishes, such as the carbonara burger—a spinoff on Rome’s most famous pasta dish, featuring Damini beef, carbonara sauce, guanciale, lettuce, pepper, and caramelized onion. Another notable feature is the ‘Spritz Bar’ truck, offering spritzes mixed by Ryder Cup champagne partner Moet & Chandon.

These new establishments showcase the dynamic and diverse nature of Rome’s food scene, offering both residents and visitors a plethora of options to explore and enjoy.
